French obsolete 12 gauge pinfire antique deactivated shotgun with superb spiral pattern damascuss barrels :

Outstanding 12 gauge French Pinfire obsolete side by side hammer action with superb spiral pattern damascuss barrels:

Just wow - this is one of the finest early pinfire shotguns (dates from around 1860) that we have ever seen - the photo`s just don`t do it justice! The damascuss barrels are superb, the breachwork is detailed and excellent and just check out that woodwork - some of the finest we have ever had. This shoygun would have been a very high stautus item in its time. Pinfires do not need deactivating as they are officially obsolete calibre, no license required, this one comes with a couple of made up brass blanks - very nice.

French mid 1800`s 12 gauge obsolete pinfire - just an outstanding example:

Evans of Purdey antique hammer shotgun - very high end:

Evans of Purdey antique deactivated 12 gauge hammer shotgun with dmamscuss barrels and original case:

OK, so we all want a Purdey - they are the best known, high end maker of shotguns from way back in the 1800`s, but they are epic on the price scale, and they are never deactivated because at that value, if you blow a barrel you can afford to have a new bespoke set made. Here`s the next best thing, an antique Evans of Purdey 12 gauge (William Evans worked alongside Purdey in that later half of the 1800`s before separating, still working closely with him, hence the name). This Evans Purdey was made new for a Mr A D Shuter in January 1900 (Evans and Co. still have a plush office in Pimlico and all the records survived the war, though they were bombed out) and is a 12 gauge side by side with top lever opening, walnut wood and damascuss barrels. Condition is excellent, the woodwork gleams with wax, the breachwork is excellent with "Evans form Purdey" engraved clearly on both lockplates and the barrel and the barrels are also very good with just a few minor dings. It has retained its gentlemans motor case (strap it to the back of the Bently...) and also comes with cleaning rods, leather ammo pouch and a handfull of inert shells which we popped in because it looks really cool. Price is not cheap, but live Evans Purdeys go for around £9500+, real Purdeys are at least 3 times that, so makes it a bit of a bargain really... Cocks and dry fires and comes with correct UK certificate of deactivation.

Evans Purdey deactivated hammer shotgun - one for a chap with a home office and fine brandy...:
