Sig 1863 pattern Schaffhausen percussion musket:

Sig 1863 pattern rifled musket, obsolete calibre, military model:

So you thought Sig just made rather effective 9mm semi auto`s? Just check out this beauty - an early pattern Sig rifled musket made at their Schaffhausen factory. These were one of the first percussion musket to use a proper rifled barrel (putting to one side the British developments with the Baker/Brunswick) and were considere the first production sniper rifle - this one is the military version with bayonet lug - it does have some fine repair to the stock but is otherwise a fantastic example. Obsolete calibre so no licsence is required to own this rifle.

Remington Rolling block Egyption/French contract:

Remington Rolling block, military model - cocks and dry fires:

OK, quick history - back in the day Remington were contracted by Ehypt to supply a stack of Rolling Block rifles for their army - the French at the same time had just had there butts kicked in the Franco/Prussian war and realised they needed some better rifles and quick - so they overpaid Remington and got the Egyptian Rolling blocks that were about to be shipped - this is one of those. Good overall condition, for some reson its been deactivated but it strips, cocks and dry fires and is very rare.

3 band Tower Musket:

3 Band Tower musket, live, obsolete calibre, no license required:

Now here`s a dark and menacing looking 3 band Tower Musket - dark because the woodworks been covered in that dark brown preservative coating we often see on Naval Sea Service pistols and Brown Bess so I think its safe to say this one had something to do with the Marines. Some British marks and plenty of sandscript so it eneded up somewhere hot, full working action, no license required.

Tower musket, probably Naval Marines, Live, obsolete calibre, no license required:

High status octagonal barreled musket with silver inlays:

Lockplate has been very well engraved, again, not your regular musket with this one. Obsolete calibre so no licsence is required to own this rifle.

Indian punt gun, obsolete calibre:

Indian heavyweight punt gun, obsolete calibre:

Wow, was not sure what to make of this when it arrived, its an iron barreled percussion cap punt gun (for blasting wild fowl), dating around 1830, made in India. The breach is just huge, around 2.5" diameter so we can`t imagine the powder charge that would have been loaded in it, along with anything else shoved down the barrel! Sports a few repairs to the equally chunky woodwork (no doub`t from the shock of firing) and the lock only fires on full lock, half cock is safty on this one. Obsolete calibre, full working action.

British 1" calibre Tower Musket:

British 1" calibre Tower Musket... crikey...:

Sweet Jesus, words cannot describe how big the 1" bore of this British musket is, but its got the extra re-enforcement of octagonalling along most of its length and its a beast of a gun... More than likely it would have loaded grape shot rather than a solid ball and would have been a shortrange devastating blast, more than likely Naval as most things were at that point. Condition is good but there`s plenty of period repairs to the wood, likely caused by the shock of firing a huge powder load! Undated but would be from around 1830, Obsolete calibre so live but no license required.

British 1" bore Tower musket... or should we say Cannon!:

British Brunswick Rifle, rifled barrel:

British Brunswick with rifled barrel:

The Brunswick was the percussion cap version of the more well known Baker Rifle (think Sharps Rifles) and has the same super heavy rifled barrel as the Baker, same woodwork as well, but has a percussion lock fitted instead of flintlock. This one looks good but has suffered a bit over time - some of the brass stock locks look like they have been replaced at some point, British army marked but no regimental marks, obsolete calibre so live but no license required.

Indian heavy breach percussion cap musket:

Similar to the Indian Punt gun below but just slightly smaller by maybe 1/2" at the breach, this is still one meaty musket. Now this is rare - we are all used to seeing K98`s and earlier G98`s, maybe the pre war G88 with the metal barrel sleeve, but here`s the daddy of all Mauser action rifles, the G71. This was the first Mauser action rifle designed by Paul Mauser to be succsesfully produced, sold and used and all Mauser action rifles share there DNA with this model (thank god we were working on the Lee Metford design...).
